The Ruins of Alexandria

Aubresiah walked out of the castle down the roads of Sati. Her instincts ran her now. The townspeople smiled at her and she smiled back. Her body would rest when it could, she had learned this from Mandelyn, going weeks without sleep was simple for her. The only thing nagging at her was uncertainty, she did not like it. The splint was uncomfortable to her, rubbing against the healing wing. Soon she would be able to use it, to fly. She was stable, she just needed to sort it out, and as she walked she did just that. As she walked she kept her ears, eyes, her nose, and her instincts looking out for any anomalies, anyone who did not belong. Her mind had now shifted into the place where she was at peace. She had locked her emotions down inside of her. All she was to do was ensure the safety of Janier, Linares and the people here. As well as helping Luka along in finding himself, in destroying what had made him this way. Ridding the cities of the shadows and of the other abominations. Restoring each and every place to its former glory. That was what she was to do. That was her plan. That is what she would do.

Ranna and Mosrael approached her. She was already awake, and they did not want her sleeping yet, so they decided Mosrael would do the talking. His voice was pitched low, his hair was a short military buzz and he was only a coupe of inches taller than Ranna, who stood at 4'7". "Excuse me miss." His voice was friendly, but not to a point to arouse suspicions. "Do you know a place me and my wife could stay for the a bit? We have been travelling for a long time and would like to sleep in real beds for once." His eyes shone with good humor.

Aubresiah did not trust them, however she did not let on. Travelers were not common here ever since Alexandria fell. Smiling brightly at them she nodded "Of course, come follow me" She said all smiles. Blocking her mind down tight she locked it tight. Leading them to the home for travelers she smiled "Where do you come from?" She opened a pouch on her side placing the coin on the counter for the younger teen behind the desk. Handing her a key the teen smiled "Nice to see you again Aubs" The girl said to her. "You too. " Aubs said smiling as she turned to face the travelers "I'm Aubresiah. May I ask your names to put you on the register, incase you loose the key, you give them your name, they will give you a spare." She came off completely nice, innocent, trustworthy and thoughtful. "The room Madison gave you has a king sized bed, so it should work for you both" her face was a mask of courtesy, they would not even be able to tell it was a ruse. As was her voice. They would not be able to tell her reading their body language for lies

"He nodded gracefully, himself giving no indication of his true intentions. "I am Mosrael. My traveling companion is Ranna. We are from the Ayatollah Apprime Mountain Range. We are heading to the southern coast, a friend of ours has a ship and is going to take us to the country south of here called Amaranthine." Ranna nodded and spoke, her voice like a bell that caused people to grow tired. "We hoped to stay in Sati for awhile and enjoy the temperate climate." Sh reached out and took the key, smiling. She was completely unreadable, keeping everything smooth.

"Well I do help your travels are safe, and that you find good rest here" Aubresiah was unfazed by her voice, due to her slipping into the mode where the missions were the missions, she did not require sleep for a month at least. She did not want sleep until the missions were completed. Aubresiah got an unsettling feeling in the pit of her stomach, although she could not act just upon a simple feeling. Linares would have her head if she was wrong and they were just normal people. Smiling Aubresiah walked away "Have a splendid day."

They waved and went to their room. Before saying anything, they cast a spell on the room to prevent any noise escaping. "She is strong, but not invincible. She was able to resist my voice, but I would need several minutes at full strength for her to feel the effects." Ranna removed her traveling cloak and set it to the side. Mosrael sat down and sighed. "Well we are here, now the fun can begin." He pulled out a jar with one small speck in it and grinned evilly.

Aubresiah couldn't shake the feeling, her skin crawled. Shaking her head her body moved towards the castle on instinct to protect Linares and Janier. Aubresiah shivered once she was in the castle and out of sight of everything and everyone. Reviewing the Shadow File in her mind she logged each and every way to kill and destroy the creatures in the full report. Her body moved her to the training area. Lightning struck the ground, thunder booming from a summer storm. The clouds released the rain. Aubresiah had her eyes closed the entire time, she closed off every sense in her body aside instincts and mind links now that the people were a great distance away, although they still would not be able to penetrate her locked memories. She could feel nothing, see nothing, smell nothing, hear nothing as her instincts guided her to fight, to battle.

He strolled through the desert now that the wind had died down. He made his north on his way to the ruins of Alexandria. It was time to clear out the shadows that haunted the area. Once they were gone, he would begin to rebuild the destroyed city, hoping that it would lead to some more of his memories breaking through the fog in his mind. He felt the creature inside of him clawing to take over, and he had to clear his mind so as not to give it any leverage over him. He knew the creature was getting weaker with every memory he recovered, but it also became more violent and frequent in it's attacks. He did not know how he was going to defeat the creature inside of him, and it scared him. If the creature ever gained control while he was around Aubresiah...he did not like to think of what would happen.

Aubresiah still was practicing. Something was wrong and she wanted to be completely ready for whatever would come her way, Linares, Janier, Luka, and the peoples way. She was considering fetching Mandelyn for her fighting and healing abilities Audrey possibly for her healing abilities. She felt alone, linares and Janier were not anything but human. They did not understand the war raging in her body and they never could. She wanted her brother, she wanted Tox here.

Tired, sweaty and dirty, he had not come through the fight unscathed. The wound going down his leg stretched from his knee to his ankle, blood coagulating. His left arm hung limp, the nerves underneath his shoulder had been struck and spasmed out. He had cleared out the ruins of the square that used to be the center of the market. Using the sunstone cache his father had hidden for future emergencies, he had erected a barrier of light around the entire city, trapping all shadow creatures inside the castle walls. The sky was black above the town from the deaths of the shadow creatures he had already felled. More were to come once he began to clear out the castle. This was the first of many eradications he was planning.

Aubresiah atrempted to send a mind link to him, feeling he was hurt. Her sences came back to her in a snap from the pain he was in. "Are you alright?" Was all she tried to say. She would not leave Sati until the two new people were gone. She didnt trust them. On top of thst they made her skin crawl.

"Aubresiah?" The mind link caused him a lapse in concentration, and the claws sliced across his ribs. He groaned and beheaded the shadow creature that struck him. "A little busy at the moment Aubs, can I get back to you?" He whirled in a circle and sliced through another shadow, spinning around the pile of floating ash that it had become and striking with the pommel of his sword, causing another to collapse to the floor. Crouching down he looked around and saw that all the shadows had been eliminated outside the castle. He dropped to one knee and took a moment to catch his breath. "I'm fine Aubs, just clearing out the shadows here in Alexandria."

Ranna-For a brief moment she felt the mind link between Aubresiah and Luka and locked in on his position. He was wounded at Alexandria, a perfect moment to close in. "Mosrael, i'm heading to Alexandria, keep an eye on things here, I know where Luka is and he is injured." She picked up her swords and stepped out the door, quickly making her way out of town.

"Be careful..." She whispered in his mind cutting off the connection at that. Closing her mind again she cracked her knuckles and neck. Closing her eyes, she went into a shadows form. It was painful, but she could come and go undetected, she rode other shadows to Alexandria. Perching herself on the old tavern watching for anything Or anyone but Luka. She had the Same attatchments to linares and Janier If they were hurt she would feel it, plus she had left Desix with them

She snuck easily through the hidden entrance, but it meant she would be on her own, as no shadows could get through the barrier of light that had been constructed around the town, and she wanted it that way. She meant no harm to Luka, after all he was doing a fine job of hurting himself. She stepped up to the servant's entrance of the castle and it creaked open. The shadows inside the castle flocked to her as she closed the door and sealed it, sending all of the shadows away from her, they went to sealing all entrances, including windows against all intruders as she set out to find Luka.

Aubresiah was scortched in the shadow form she had, being an innovator she transformed into her angel form, looking like herself enough, but also looking as If she was made of light. If she Droid still she would blend with the light sheild. Thats exactaly what she did, she stood still, blending in, watching Luka and the surrounding area.

He stood between the two piles of ashes that were once Revenants. His wounds were severe, and he collapsed to the ground, unable to muster the strength to heal himself with his sunstone. His sword slipped from his grip and he began to fade out of consciousness as he heard footsteps behind him.

She approached his limp body, shaking her head. "You have grown stronger Luka." She said with a smile. "That is good, just as we thought you would." She placed her hands on his body as he fought against the power of her voice. "Your wounds will heal, this will help that." She pulled a vial out of her pocket and poured it down his throat. "It is a virus your father developed and mass produced, it will increase your blood output and speed up the healing process, however you must accept no magical healing, otherwise the effects will be countereffective and you will never heal again." She placed the vial back into her pocket, flipping her white shoulder length hair back she stood up. "Now my work here is done, I should be getting back or else they will get suspicious, you should be fully healed in no time." She touched his forehead and leaned down, planting a kiss on his cheek. "Donec Obviam Iterum Amicus." She whispered as she headed back out the entrance behind the throne room.

Aubresiah listened intently logging all infromation in her mind, the woke scene would be in her mind just as she heard and saw it, just as it occured for Janier. She knew he would heal. She couldnt help him anyways. Waiting a proper ammount of time, she flew up slowly to not be noticed when she hit cloud cover, she bolted to Sati and into the training area, them to Janiers room to speak with him. She knocked on his door calmly so no one knew anything was wrong.

"Come In" His voice called out. He was very calmed and relaxed as he looked over at his guest. Her short white hair moving in the slight wind that blew through the open window. He turned his head towards the door, knowing instinctually it was Aubresiah. He stood up and pulled out the other chair for Aubresiah when she entered.

Swallowing hard, she sat down "Need to show you something." She murmured, taking his hand in hers she placed her other hand on his head showing him what had happened. She felt accomplished for knowing now the new people weren't trustable. Her eyes were un readable as she looked at him in his own eyes. Pulling away from him she looked out if his window calmly. The storms had stopped.

He smiled as she showed him what she had seen. He walked and stood next to her by the window. "I already know what happened. Their involvement in Luka's healing must remain a secret. I have already set up barriers over the castle, I'd like you to double check my work and add what you think we missed. I will let Ranna here fill you in on what is going on."

"Aubresiah, it is a pleasure to finally meet to you and speak openly like this. My name is Ranna, my partner you met earlier is Mosrael. We are a part of a group called the Bright Shiners. The 9 bright shiners were the ones pulling the strings behind the council, two of them were killed when the council failed. Me and Mosrael are the lowest ranking members." She took a breath and stood up, laying everything out on the table. "Luka's father Sivad, requested our help in destroying this conspiracy. I'll tell you everything I can, and will do what I can to help destroy Orannis."

Aubresiah still didn't trust her and stood against a wall, looking at her in her eyes "I don't trust you. " Desix had appeared from nowhere it seemed, walked to Aubresiah, hackle raised, standing beside her. Desix nodded to Aubresiah and she nodded back. Earlier she had told him to activate the beacon to send for Mandelyn, clicking hers silently in her pocket she did the Same. "Question. As Mandelyns chosen to step up, Why have I not heard of this?" She asked hand on her sword. " start talking openly, now, or my right mind will cut you down. You and the people you affiliated with Or still do have done horrid things and my insides agree on one thing and that is ripping you all limb from limb. " she glared at Janier and Ranna. She felt betrayed by Janier.

She smiled. "You have every right to be worried, and yes the Shiners have done horrible things, but myself and Mosrael had no hand in it. That's the thing about being low ranking, you don't get to make any decisions, and your opinion doesn't matter." She opened her mind completely so Aubresiah could delve in as deep as she wanted. "As for why you have not heard of it, Sivad requested no one, not even his family be told so they could keep out of danger, but with his departure, we have nothing left, so we sought the help of his closest friends, Linares and Janier." She opened her hands and knelt down, bowing her head. "If you see me as such a threat, you may take my life right now, Mosrael already knows if anything happens to me, to know the mission is a failure and go into hiding so no harm will come to him from either side." She waited for the strike to fall.
